NOTRE DAME, Ind.-The Bellarmine University Women's Cross Country team led the way for all Division 2 Schools at the 2010 National Catholic Cross Country Invitational taking first over GLVC foe Lewis University. It was a team effort and strong running that ultimately led the women to an impressive victory up at Notre Dame.
Senior
Meghan Shagena (Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Ursula Academy) continues to run well, overcoming a sprained ankle suffered earlier this week in practice to place eighth among all Division 2 runners. Junior
Carissa Martin (New Albany, Ind., New Albany) and sophomore
Angela Musk (New Hope, Ky., Bethlehem) also had top 15 finishes, placing 14th and 15th respectively.
The weather played no factor in the Knights performance as it was a perfect 70 degree, windless day up at Notre Dame.
The Knights finished 11th overall in the Invitational and look to continue their success on Oct. 2 at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in the Ninth Annual Greater Louisville Classic here in Louisville, Ky. The meet begins at 9 am ET.
