KYtrackXC.com Athletes of the Week – April 5th

 

Boys Sprinter

Brandon Bagley of John Hardin won the 100m Hurdles at the Mobile Challenge of Champions in Alabama with a new best time of 14.33.  He also finished second in the 300m Hurdles with a 38.49.

Girls Sprinter

Diamond Wilson of Fern Creek won the 400m Dash and the 300m Hurdles at the Male Invitational on Thursday.  Two events that run very close to each other, she ran a new best time in the 300m Hurdles with a 46.38 which is #1 in Kentucky.  She was also on the runner-up 1600m Relay team.

 

Boys Distance

Tretez Kinniard of Butler won the 800m Run at the Male Invitational on Thursday in a new best time of 1:56.15.  This is the #1 time for the freshman in the United States.

Girls Distance

Emma Brink of Sacred Heart Academy has won just about every award there is for Track/Cross Country in Kentucky, but it has been over a year since she has picked up this award.  She did it this week finishing second in the One Mile Run at the Mobile Challenge of Champions in Alabama with a Kentucky All-Time #1 time of 4:52.51.  Her time ranks #4 in the United States.

 

Boys Field Event

Ronjae Morris of Male set two PR’s on Thursday at the Male Invitational in the Triple Jump and Long Jump.  His mark in the Long Jump of 21-09.75 almost a two foot improvement from last year.  He currently ranks #2 in Kentucky in the Long Jump. 

Girls Field Event

Samantha Smith of Rockcastle County won four events at the Pulaski County Invitational on Friday.  She established a new best jump of 38-05 in the Triple Jump.  She is currently ranked #1 in Kentucky in the Triple Jump.
