NEW ORLEANS – Bellarmine women cross country runners were one of 100 women's teams to receive U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Honors in the nation today.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at a NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade point average (GPA).

The Bellarmine team compiled a GPA of 3.41 for the fall semester of 2009 while finishing eighth in the NCAA Regional Meet last November. The Great Lake Valley Conference placed four teams for the award with Drury, Northern Kentucky, and Southern Indiana universities also receiving the honor.

Truman State topped all Division II teams with a 3.78 cumulative GPA surpassing last year's mark of 3.72.
