As a final tune-up before the conference championship this weekend, the Bellarmine women's and men's indoor track and field teams traveled to Greencastle, Ind. this past Saturday to compete in the 2010 DePauw Indoor Classic.  The team proved successful from A (Alex Jones/Alexandra Wolfe) to Z (Julia Zalewski)  with the men finishing second and the women getting a fourth place finish—just a half a point out of third.

Five new school records were established at DePauw, as four new women's marks were set and one new men's standard was established.

Julia Zalewski shattered a five-year-old mark in the women's weight throw with a heave of 14.62 meters.  The throw was good enough for second place at the meet.

Another Bellarmine record fell in the women's 4x200 meter relay, as the team of Rachel Eyckmans, Kate Mastronicola, Elaine Kuntz and Katie Neiser broke their own record with a final time of 1:48.73, which earned them a victory in the event.

Freshman Nora Bowe finished fourth in the 55 meter hurdles, surpassing her own school record with a time of 9.22 seconds.

The final record-breaking run by the Knights' women took place in the 55 meter dash preliminaries as freshman Elaine Kuntz clocked a time of 7.50 seconds.

On the men's side, Seth Sigler had a school record performance in the 55 meter hurdles, eclipsing his own mark with a run of 7.81 seconds, which also earned him a first place victory.

Other top performances of the meet included victories by Alex Jones in the men's mile run, Alexandra Wolfe in the women's triple jump, and the men's 4x200 relay team.
