KYtrackXC.com Athletes of the Week: September 1st

In an effort to honor the top cross country performers from Kentucky, KYtrackXC.com will have a weekly set of Athletes of the Week.  There will be Middle School, High School, and College awardees.  Former Kentucky High School Track and Field athletes currently running in college are eligible for the College award, even if he or she attends a school out-of-state. 

 

High School Boys

Sean Vandermosten – Conner

Vandermosten, a senior finished second at the Henry Jacquez Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He helped lead his team to the team title defeating traditional Ohio powerhouses, Elder and Moeller.  His time of 16:38.12 is only four seconds off his best time ever.

 

High School Girls

Ashley El Rady – Assumption

El Rady, a junior finished second overall in the Varsity Girls race at the Tiger Run in Louisville.  Her time of 19:01.19 was a new career best.  This beat her best time from last season by thirty-six seconds.

 

Middle School Boys

Nolan Ruhs – North Oldham Middle School

Ruhs, an eighth grader finished 12th in the 3000m Middle School Race at the Tiger Run in Louisville.  His time of 10:44.85 was close to a 2:00 improvement from last year at the Tiger Run where he finished 129th overall.  He helped lead North Oldham to the team title in the Middle School Boys competition.

 

Middle School Girls

Whitney O’Bryan – Daviess County Middle School

O’Bryan, an eighth grader won the Daviess County 6K Relay Girls Middle School race.  Her time was an 11:19.80 for the 3000m course.   In her victory she defeated three very tough College View runners in her first race of the season.
