Blue Devil Alexia Winn is Top Returning Triple Jumper

The triple jump on the ladies side has five that have eclipsed the 36 foot mark in 2017 and are looking to improve in 2018. So far this indoor season, no one has surpassed 36 feet further affirming that this event is up for grabs. Senior Alexia Winn from Henry Clay was the class AAA state champion and Sophie Galloway from Graves County was the state runner up. These two come into the season ranked 1-2 in the state however, we have not see them at all during the indoor season. The top mark from the indoor season belongs to Keyanna Bottoms of Fern Creek but Melanie Welsing of Model is right there with her. Two names to watch are MaKenzie Cooper of George Rogers Clark and Autumn King of Rockcastle County. King is a key piece to Rockcastle putting together a run at the team title. Look for her to step up to give her team a boost. Cooper is the do-it-all tool for GRC and that showed at the KTCCCA Indoor State Championships with a win in long jump, runner up in triple jump, and third place finishes in the 400m and 55 hurdles. Her challenge will be the competitive nature of class AAA.
