Here we are already…POST-SEASON!
As Regionals are this week, we will start to see Regional Performance Lists released. According to the KHSAA standards, coaches have a specified time frame in which to challenge any submitted performance for their regional meet from these lists. Why verify? To ensure your athlete is placed in the correct heat based on a legitimate performance mark.
In order to assist coaches throughout the state with this verification process, KYtrackXC.com offers a tool which lists the top performance of each athlete in every event in your region. With a simple click of your mouse, you can see exactly where any athlete in your region stands in any event, thereby allowing you to compare the Regional Performance List with actual season performances.
Last track season, using this tool, one coach in KY successfully challenged over 20 marks submitted to the Regional Performance List. Because of his diligence in verifying his region’s Performance List, not only his athletes but all athletes in his region were more fairly placed in the final heats during the Regional Meet. With the absence of qualifying heats, the Regional Performance List must be as accurate as possible to be fair to our state’s athletes.
