Performance Spotlight: Morgan Gigandet - Troy High School

Troy High School's Morgan Gigandet is the top ranked XC athlete in the state.

Congratulations to Troy High School's Morgan Gigandet on her race win at the Centerville Saturday Night Lights this past weekend.  Gigandet recorded an impressive time of 17:06.70 to top U.S. #1 ranked Anne Forsyth of Ann Arbor Pioneer (Michigan) by 22 seconds.  Forsyth secured 2nd place with her time of 17:28.10 and she holds the country's fastest time this season from her 16:50.30 effort at the Benzie Pete Moss Invitational in August.

Morgan Gigandet kept her 2017 undefeated XC season in tact as she collected her 3rd win in as many starts.  She also won the Moeller Primetime Invitational in August (17:43.44) and the prestigious Trinity / Valkyrie Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky on September 16th (17:41.40).  Her 17:06.70 time in Centerville ranks her 1st in Ohio, 5th in the country and it represents a new meet record and a new PR.

Watch out for this Troy athlete to continue to post fast times in her upcoming races.
