OLYMPIAN DWIGHT STONES COMING TO KENTUCKY AND KHSAA JULY 26-29.

The KTCCCA is proud to announce that DWIGHT STONES, a former World Record Holder and 3-time Olympian High Jumper as well as the the long time and current television voice of track and field in America, will be conducting a KTCCCA MEMBERS Motivational Presentation and Q&A immediately followed by a Coaching Clinic at the KHSAA office on Wednesday July 29th, 2015 beginning at 1:00PM until 5:00 pm. Seating will begin at 12:30 pm. The address of the KHSAA office is: 2280 Executive Dr. Lexington KY 40505.


As KTCCCA memberships expire July 31st we are using this opportunity to renew membership for the coming year as most of the price of attending. The cost is $20 and all coaches, administrators, officials and other eligible members will receive a 2015/2016 KTCCCA renewal for having attended. Any guest will be charged $20 per person.

A private athlete clinic with or without a coach present opportunity is available with Dwight on July 26th in Western Kentucky and July 28th in Lexington. Please contact ecooper023@gmail.com for details. The KTCCCA has already funded food and lodging and some very limited need based scholarship money for this opportunity so please inquire ASAP. Dwight will also be conducting a motivational shorter presentation (no clinic) in Murray on July 27, also sponsored by the KTCCCA. Details will follow as facility arrangements have not yet been finalized. Both speaking engagements can be attended for the cost of the one KTCCCA renewal.


ABOUT DWIGHT STONES:
Dwight Stones is one of the most decorated American high jumpers in history. He is the winner of 2 Olympic medals, the setter of 16 World Records, the only U.S. high jumper to compete in 3 Olympic Finals, the #1 ranked high jumper in history, and a 1988 Track and Field Hall of Fame inductee. His personal best of 7'8" in winning the 1984 Olympic Trials resulted in him making his 3rd Olympic Team and setting his 13th American Record. Dwight has also been a television sports analyst, host/play by play announcer, and interviewer since 1977, and has covered every Summer games Olympics since 1984 and has also covered many Winter games as well.

For the past 20+ years, Dwight has dedicated his professional coaching career to primarily private coaching high school jumpers across the nation. Stones has coached nearly 60 State high jumping champions from all over the country. This includes co-coaching with Henry Clay's Demetrius Gay and private Team Kentucky Elite's Eric Cooper our own current two-time National Champion and KY Gatorade Athlete of the Year and reigning 3A champion Henry Clay's Jaron Brooks. Jaron is the first jumper in Kentucky to clear 7 feet and has jumped 7 or higher an astonishing 3 times this season.. All this after never clearing higher than 6'4".
