Boys 2015 Outdoor T&F All-MileStat Teams

First Team All-MileStat

100m Dash

Noah Lyles (T.C. Williams)

10.21

National Champion, State Record Holder

Despite the rain and false start to his side, Noah put on a show in the 100m dash running a ridiculous 10.21 to break the old state record by a tenth of a second in wind legal conditions.

200m Dash

Noah Lyles (T.C. Williams)

20.48

National Champion, State Record Holder

Though we never give out multiple honors to the same individual, it would be a disservice to our sport not to name Noah to the team twice since he did break both state records and win both national titles and state titles.

400m Dash

Josephus Lyles (T.C. Williams)

45.99

National Champion, 6A State Champion

Once again Josephus Lyles was the guy to beat this year but fortunately no one could beat him this year either. He ended the season by winning the NBN 400m title in 45.99, defending his title from last year.

800m Dash

Tayvon Burris (Bayside)

1:51.27

6A State Champion

This state champion finished his season off the right way by winning the 6A State title back-to-back.

Mile/1600m

Matthew Novak (Deep Run)

4:06.68

National Champion, 5A State Champion

Matthew capped off a very decorated career with the ultimate finish when he crossed the line first at the 2015 New Balance Nationals.

2 Mile/3200m

Drew Hunter (Loudoun Valley)

8:39.48c

State Record Holder, Brooks PR Champion

Either Drew is the Noah Lyles of distance or Noah Lyles is the Drew of sprints but either way Drew completely dominated this season. He won the mile at Penn Relays but really stole the show in the 3200/ 2 Mile by winning the Brooks PR race over Grant Fisher.

110m Hurdles

Charles Graham (Phoebus)

13.53

VA #2 All-time, 4A State Champion

Indoors he was overlooked but thanks to a strong outdoor season Charles is now the king of the hurdles outdoors. He finished the season sitting comfortably atop the leaderboard in the 110h and highly in the 300h. He also sits now at #2 all-time in the state and as on the fastest hurdlers over the past 15 years.

300m Hurdles

Quincy Watts (Landstown)

36.76

VA #2

Quincy had one of the greatest state meets ever this year. In his final event he did not disappoint by running one of the fastest 300h ever in the state of Virginia.

Long Jump

Grant Holloway (Grassfield)

25-8.75

US #1, VA #2 All-Time, 6A State Champion

Grant seems to always find a way to one up himself. Going into the competition at 6A States he had a previous personal best of 23 & change but improved that by roughly two feet on one of his final attempts. That mark stands as the second best ever in Virginia and the nation's leading mark.

Triple Jump

DaJuan Seward (Brunswick)

49-9.25

2A State Champion

Though he scored copious amounts of points at the championship meets this season, some of the points he was most proud of were scored in the triple jumps. He finished the season off with another 2A State Championship and a state leading mark.

High Jump

Bradley Jones (Oscar Smith)

6-10

Bradley led the state for nearly the entire season and continued his ability to reach new heights each and every season.

Pole Vault

Andrew Arlint (Battlefield)

15-4

6A State Champion

Andrew was virtually unbeatable this season and racked up some serious titles this year even with tough competition and tie-breakers. He finished the season off with a 6A State title as well.

Discus Throw

Connor Scott (Lee-Davis)

178-1

VA #1

There are not many underclassmen winning state titles but Connor Scott is one of them. He came on strong in the middle of the season and has not looked back since. Keep an eye on this first teamer as he could make this a permanent spot over the next three years.

Shot Put

Ben Beatty (Courtland)

59-7

4A State Champion

He won this placing on his stellar state meet performances by winning the 4A State Championship.

4x100m Relay

Western Branch

41.11

National Champions, 6A State Champions

Not only were these boys 6A State Champions but also National Champions as well.

4x400m Relay

T.C. Williams

3:12.17

What do you get when both Lyles brothers team up? You get a 3:12.17 time in prelims that ranks as one of the fastest in state history. For those wondering, both Lyles split in the 46s on this one.

4x800m Relay

Deep Run

7:45.75, All-American 4th Place

Though they ended the season as VA #2, they beat the #1 team twice in a row to finish off the season and even finished with an All-American finish at Nationals.
