10 Years, oh how time flies. Going back to the spring of 2005, two Murray State University students announced to the world, or at least to the coaches in Kentucky, the creation of KYtrackXC.com. Charlie Shoulta and I worked together early on while we both were student teaching. We used to have such great times in between classes looking at results and talking about track/XC.
Early on it was really just a hobby, a place for some basic track rankings. Only high school and nowhere near the depth that you see today. Using only elites marks. (Here are the old standards) If you did not hit the mark, you did not have an athlete page. Articles were very limited (4 for the entire month of April that 1st year)
Fast forward to 2015. Now 10 years later, the site is so different and my life is so different. KYtrackXC is a legitimate company with multiple people involved in the process of covering meets. Ten years ago, I was student teaching. My wife and I had no kids. Today, I am finishing my 10th year teaching at Carlisle County High School. My wife and I have three children (Aiden 9, Emma 6, and Levi 4.)
Since there is no definitive day to call the 10 Year Anniversary, I figured it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate for the entire rest of April. To mark the 10th Anniversary, I am going to post a whole slew of flashbacks, stats, thank yous and so much more throughout the rest of April.
