GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Kentucky track and field's Kendra Harrison opened the outdoor season with a world-leading 400-meter hurdles time for the second year in a row at the Florida Relays.

Harrison became the first (and to-date only) woman to run the 400m hurdles in fewer than 55 seconds this year.

Senior transfer Robert Sandlin ran 3:44.14 to win the 1,500m. That time is leads the SEC and ranks No. 3 in the NCAA at the moment, although fast 1,500m times are expected at this weekend's Stanford Invitational.

Jacklyn Howell placed fifth in the Florida Relays 100m hurdles with a time of 13.08 (+0.1), which was a personal best.

Dezerea Bryant finished as the fourth overall collegian in the 200m with a time of 23.19.

Terence Boyd placed third in the university section of the long jump with a mark of 23'11.50"/7.30m, which was an outdoor season best.

Carolina McCaslin and Katy Kunc ran the second and third fastest 3k steeplechase times in school history to finish ninth and 11th respectively with times of 10:32.98 and 10:33.29.
