Top 10 Performances of 2014: #5 Alcorta Goes 4:46 To Win Millrose Mile!

In our newest feature we are announcing our Top 10 Performances of 2014 by Virginia athletes. Check these out throughout the next couple days and see who and what made our list!

           #5 Caroline Alcorta's 4:46.06 Millrose Mile Victory

Caroline Alcorta dominated the state of Virginia for years. She was basically unbeatable at the 1600 and 3200m distances. She was also a huge part of West Springfield's state record 4x800 squad indoors. She also helped her Spartan teammates to a complete sweep of the Major DMR titles this year (Indoor Nationals, Penn Relays, and Outdoor Nationals). She was the epitome of what you want in an anchor leg. She played all the roles in that position as well. She walked people down, she held-off competition, and in all of them she won. You could pick and chose really any of her performances this past year and consider them for this list but the one that stood out most was the 4:46.06 full Mile indoors. The time alone is amazing but the fact that she won the event and Millrose only adds to her legend.

Just to add to all of her times she was also MileStat's Outdoor Runner of the Year, Distance Runner of the Year and her page was the 6th most popular in our entire network!
