In our newest feature we are announcing our Top 10 Performances of 2014 by Virginia athletes. Check these out throughout the next couple days and see who and what made our list!

             # 4 Libby Davidson's XC State Meet Record 17:12

What. A. Season. For Libby Davidson. We saw her remain undefeated in-state and only suffer two losses the entire season and both of them were her Foot Locker races. She posted a new PR of 16:56 at Foot Locker South and defeated the best 3K runner in the entire nation four times in a row, Weini Kelati. Though her list of accolades is long, one stands above the rest and that is her 17:12 performance in frigid conditions at the state meet this year. That time, the greatest all-time in state meet history, passed Caroline Alcorta's from a year ago. Think about it... Libby Davidson, a sophomore, broke Alcorta's state meet record that she set in warmer conditions as a senior. That is simply amazing.

A week or so removed from the most epic battle of the season, 4A North Regional Championships, Libby shocked the entire state by not only winning but by destroying her competition. Libby and Weini though were both under record pace through 2 Miles and clearly ahead of the field. It was a surprise though to see how Libby got stronger as the race went on and seemingly had more left in the tank. The best part of the whole event though was Libby only realizing she broke the state meet record when she was interviewed after the race. If you haven't seen that interview check it out here! Arguably one of the best interviews of the year.
