The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Cross Country program continues to compete highly this season including knocking off some highly ranked opponents as well as numerous NCAA Division I opponents. With some great top finishes this season, one Patriot lady has once again stood out among the rest in the Mid-South Conference as she earned another weekly honor.
UC senior Danielle Hoop (Owenton, Ky.) was named this week’s Mid-South Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week, conference officials announced . Hoop captures her 6th career conference weekly honor and 3rd of the season.
Hoop finished 11th in the Blue Race at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic , the top NAIA finisher in the 352 woman race. Hoop’s time of over the 5,000-meter E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park course is the third fastest time of her career. She led UC to a 30th place finish in the 38-team event.
The Patriots will be back in action on October 17th as they will compete in the Wilmington Classic in Wilmington, Ohio.
