Despite states being well over a month away both for the VHSL and VISAA, MileStat thought it would be great to start posting easy access to virtual meets to show what the state meet would be like if it were to take place today! VHSL Group 6A
After only two weeks of 5ks in the books and Lake Braddock is really looking like the team to beat at the 6A level. In the boys, right now, they are slated to score only 52 points and completely run away from the competition while in the girls race they are slated as the second place team just behind Oakton who will have to show up big time to keep the title in their trophy case for another year. James Madison, Patriot, and Cosby are all also in the hunt for that girls title.

VHSL Group 5A
With some of the best consistency in the state, it looks like Douglas Freeman may have a serious shot to win a state title, they are the current leaders for this in the boys 5A competition. On the girls side of things Tuscarora is the current leader but the Raiders of Atlee are very close behind. Both of these teams have been running on hilly courses as of late, these rankings will definitely change if they run on a fast course prior to the state meet.

VHSL Group 4A
Can you say exciting? In this classification we may get to see some of the best races of any classification. On the boys team side it looks like Midlothian, pending they are at full strength, will cruise to a title here but individually things should be very interesting. In the girls competition we get to see Mildothian, E.C. Glass, Heritage (Leesburg), and Jefferson Forest all square off. Though Jefferson Forest is the favorite on paper, they are not guarenteed this title... If Weini Kelati is as good as we think she can be then she will be the athlete to watch, her placement could seriously disrupt E.C. Glass' title hopes. This will be the race to watch.

VHSL Group 3A
What more can you say then Andrew Hunter and Blacksburg Girls? Though the individual race may be all-but-decided on the boys side, the team title is anything but that. Currently Brentsville looks to be the favorite but Blacksburg is definitely in the mix too and very close behind them. If, or more realistically when, Blacksburg gets at full force then we should see quite the show here. On the girls side of things it is just unfair how good Blacksburg is. They are currently slated to score a whopping 15 points... That's what we in the business call a perfect score.

VHSL Group 2A
You used to be able to describe this classification with two words... well you still can, Maggie Walker. Maggie Walker is looking to do it again with both teams currently sitting as the top teams in their classification. They are starting to get company however from Floyd County on the boys side and George Mason on the girls side. Though they look to currently have a safe margin of victory, if they are not at full strength we could be staring down that stretch waiting for the 5th finisher.

VHSL Group 2A West Boys - Girls Regional Virtual Meet
Currently sitting as the top team in the girls competition in this classification are the girls from Radford who are slated as of now to score an impressive 35 points, well below the 89 predicted for their closest competitor Mathews. On the boys side of things Galax is the current leader, thanks in large part to Cliff Conley the current 1A leader, and are also joined by Auburn and Radford who are each within striking distance. All three teams have their top four all inside the top 20 which means that we are going to see a lot of important kicks and photos finishes in this race.

In the private school state meet we have four meets instead of two like in the VHSL. Leading the way in the Division 1 for the girls is Bishop O'Connell who is slated to score 71 points right now. What is key to watch with them is that their top four runners are seeded 9, 10, 11, 12 currently which means that if one or two runners ruin that exact placing then they are adding exponential points to their total. That matters here a lot because Saint Catherine's is right behind them with a predicted 83 points. Obviously these points are off because they include both divisions but they do illuminate how close this race is going to be.
On the boys side of things in the Division 1 race Bishop O'Connel leads again with Trinity close behind them this time. Paul IV will also be in the hunt here and cannot be counted out. In the Division 2 race for the boys it is all Peninsula Catholic who will be looking to take it all this year opposed to their runner-up finish last year to Veritas. On the girls side of things in the Division 2 race it will also be Peninsula Catholic leading the way in hopes of victory.
