COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Campbellsville's (Ky.) Joey Hartlage is the Mid-South Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
Hartlage earns his first weekly conference honor of the season and of his career.
Running at the Hanover College Madison Kiwanis Invitational on Saturday, Hartlage finished runner-up at the 61-man to take home the conference's top honors. The Louisville, Ky., junior completed the 8,000-meter course with a time of 28 minutes and 7 seconds -- a little more than 30 seconds off the winning time.
Hartlage earns his second straight runner-up finish after last week's second place at the Asbury (Ky.) Invitational. This week's finish is the second top 10 of the season and fifth of Hartlage's career. He led the Tigers to a fourth place finish in the team portion of the event.
The next MSC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
