St. Xavier's Chris Striegel Commits to Louisville

St. Xavier senior Chris Striegel has committed to the University of Louisville for XC/Track.  He is coming off a Class AAA Runner-Up finish at the Kentucky State Cross Country Meet in November.  He helped to lead St. Xavier to their third consecutive team state championship.

Last year he was the third runner on arguably the greatest boys team in Kentucky history that went on to win Nike Cross Southeast and earn a trip to Nike Cross Nationals.  Last May individually he was 4th overall in the Class AAA 3200m Run at the Kentucky State Track Meet with a 9:28.31.

He will join former Tigers Thomas Cave and Nick Reader at the University of Louisville.

On why he chose the University of Louisville:

I chose UofL for many reasons. It came down to deciding that I wanted to continue running for my hometown of Louisville. I love this city. UofL also has really strong academics that give me the chance to continue learning at a high level. Athletically, the team is going to do big things and the guys are just awesome and fun to be around. Coach Walker is just a great guy and coach and I'm pumped to be a Cardinal.
