Hunter Trenary & Mason Blevins Commit to Morehead State

Morehead State picked up two commitments from runners in Kentucky so far this year.  Owen County's Hunter Trenary and Pulaski County's Mason Blevins will both be running Cross Country and Track for the OVC school next year.

Trenary was 3rd overall at the 2013 Kentucky Class A State Cross Country Championship in November after an outstanding season that saw him run a new PR of 15:58.70 at Grant County.  Last spring he was 7th in the Class A 3200m Run as well.

Blevins was 26th overall in Class AAA at the Kentucky State Cross Country Championship with a 16:56 leading Pulaski County to a 10th place team finish.  Last track season he threw down a huge PR of 9:33 for 3200m at the Eastern Relays.  He went onto finish 7th in the 3200m at Kentucky State Track Meet and 11th in the 1600m.

On why they chose Morehead State:

Trenary said:

"I chose Morehead after noticing Coach Ericksen's ability to transform high school runners into great collegiate level athletes. He has improved the team's placement in the region consistently every year. Having the chance to contribute to Morehead's success is a great opportunity."

Blevins said:

"I chose Morehead because I felt like it was a good fit for me both academically and athletically. Morehead gave me the opportunity to pursue a degree and to be able to run at the Division 1 level which has always been a goal of mine. I also really liked the way their team had improved under the direction of Coach Ericksen. They are definitely a program on the rise and I'm excited to be a part of it next year."
