Seven Former KY Athletes Earn All-American Honors at NAIA National Championship

 

Several former Kentucky runners had sucess at the NAIA National Indoor Championship over the weekend.  Former Southern jumper Keisha Chiles had the highest finish of the day with a 2nd Place placing in the Triple Jump.  She leaped out 38-07.50 for Campbellsville University only 1.5 inches behind first place.  Chiles teammate, Tiosha Beasley from Bowling Green HS was 8th overall in the Long Jump with a leap of 17-11.75.

Former John Hardin runner, Aundreas Lopez, senior at the University of Cumberlands finished 3rd in the 1000m Run with a time of 2:28.41.  His teammate, former Owen County runner Danielle Hoop earned All-American honors twice.  She finished 5th in the 1000m Run with a 2:53.56 and was a member of the 4th place Distance Medley relay for Cumberlands.  She combined with two former Kentucky runners Natasha Sydnor from John Hardin and Samantha Proffitt from North Laurel on the relay that ran a time of 12:03.36.

Former Webster County runner Matt Lowe was 7th in the 5000 Meter Run with a 14:45.69 running for Brescia University.  All of the above athletes earned All-American honors with their finishes.
